What Google requires

new, refurbished or used, and text that agrees

The condition attribute accepts exactly three values: new, refurbished and used. Anything else, like new, open box, B-stock, display model, must be mapped onto one of the three. The declaration also has to survive contact with your own copy: a title announcing refurbished on a product declared new is a contradiction Google can read as easily as we can.

What happens if you do not

Refusal for the value, risk for the contradiction

An out-of-list value is refused directly. The contradiction case is riskier than it looks: misrepresenting condition touches policy, not just data quality, and policy problems escalate beyond the single product. Second-hand and refurbishment shops hit this constantly because their internal grading vocabularies, grade A, B-stock, are richer than Google's three words.

How to fix it by hand

Map the vocabulary, then reread the copy

• Map every internal grade onto the three allowed values; open box and display models are used unless a certified refurbishment process makes them refurbished.
• Check titles and descriptions against the declared condition, and fix whichever one is wrong.
• Put the finer grading in the description, where it is allowed and useful, rather than in the attribute.
